About the Role We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Customer Service Representative to join our Treasurer's Office team at blithequark. As a Senior Customer Service Representative, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional support to our customers, responding to complex tax-related inquiries, and resolving issues in a professional and efficient manner. Key Responsibilities As a Senior Customer Service Representative at blithequark, your key responsibilities will include: Receiving and responding to telephone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries from customers, providing accurate and timely information on tax-related matters Conducting detailed research on property tax information, including complex taxpayer problems, court cases, condemnation suits, and other research projects Maintaining confidential taxpayer files and documents, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times Processing payment transactions related to property tax receipts, including receiving, accounting, and recording payments from individual taxpayers and mortgage companies Calculating interest and penalty charges on delinquent accounts, researching and preparing payment adjustment forms for tax refunds and re-applications Assisting with daily updates to the tax roll, including changes in ownership, values, exemptions, and legal descriptions Providing training and support to personnel assigned to the division, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure a high level of customer service Performing varied customer service functions, including liaison for volunteer groups and taxpayers in specialty areas, collection efforts on delinquent taxes, and clerical tasks Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Two (2) years of work experience in a clerical or office administration setting, or a related field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to research and resolve complex tax-related issues High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate and confidential records Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be highly regarded: Previous experience working in a tax-related field, or a related area of expertise Knowledge of property tax laws and regulations, including condemnation suits and tax refunds Experience with computerized systems and software, including databases and spreadsheets Strong leadership and training skills, with the ability to provide guidance and support to personnel Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to research and resolve complex tax-related issues High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate and confidential records Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration Strong leadership and training skills, with the ability to provide guidance and support to personnel Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a strong focus on delivering results Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for career growth and development.
