As a Material Handler – Receiving on the night shift, you are the critical link between suppliers, the warehouse, and the production floor. Key Responsibilities
- Material Retrieval & Delivery: Pick raw materials, components, and production supplies from the warehouse using manual methods, a forklift, pallet jack, or other Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT). Transport these items to designated production zones or staging areas according to schedule or urgent requests.
- Receiving & Shipment Preparation: Receive Inter‑Plant Shipping Orders (IPSO), verify quantities, inspect for damage, and prepare shipments for outbound logistics. Secure trailers by blocking, locking, and following standard lock‑out procedures.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Pre‑operate forklifts, change batteries when required, conduct routine inspections, and report any mechanical issues to supervisors promptly.
- Inventory Management: Utilize Baxter’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (GME) to update location data, track inventory movements, and ensure accurate stock levels.
- Safety & Quality Assurance: Adhere to 6S workplace organization principles, follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and comply with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Promptly report any safety hazards, quality concerns, or discrepancies.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with production supervisors, quality assurance teams, and fellow material handlers to coordinate workflow, resolve bottlenecks, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in shift huddles, suggest process enhancements, and engage in training opportunities that drive efficiency and reduce waste.
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Basic proficiency in English (both written and spoken) to understand work instructions, safety signage, and communicate with team members.
- Ability to perform basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for inventory counts and documentation.
- Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 35 lb repeatedly, stand, bend, squat, climb, and lift overhead (above shoulder level).
- Basic computer literacy, with experience navigating ERP or inventory management software preferred.

- Career Readiness Certification (CRC) at the Silver level or higher.
