Key Responsibilities

As an International Education Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in promoting the AYA program, recruiting host families, and supporting exchange students and their host families throughout their journey. Your responsibilities will include:

• Networking and promoting the AYA program through community outreach efforts to identify and recruit suitable host families.
• Collaborating with local schools to coordinate exchange student enrollment and ensure a smooth integration process.
• Screening and selecting host families that meet the program's requirements, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the students.
• Maintaining regular contact with both the students and their host families to ensure student safety, address any concerns, and fulfill reporting requirements.
• Providing logistical, emotional, and social support to students, host families, and schools, fostering a positive and enriching experience for all parties involved.
• Implementing conflict resolution and mediation strategies as necessary to address any issues that may arise.
• Providing emergency housing in your home if needed or identifying suitable local emergency housing options.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• A strong ability to take initiative, think creatively, and seek out the information needed to address challenges.
• An affinity for working with people and a talent for building connections within your community.
• A background in marketing, education, social work, or international relations, which can be beneficial in understanding the nuances of cultural exchange.
• A working knowledge of social media and the ability to utilize online databases, tools, and forms effectively.
• A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle, as local travel may be required.
• The ability to devote 10-15 hours per week, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• A minimum age of 25 years.
