Your role will involve answering inbound calls, interacting with customers in a professional and compassionate manner, and providing information and assistance in accordance with established policies, procedures, and privacy laws. Key Responsibilities Answering inbound calls and interacting with customers in a professional, empathetic, and compassionate manner Providing information and assistance in accordance with established policies, procedures, and privacy laws Assisting customers with program enrollment and routing them to the appropriate contacts via three-way calls Assisting customers with their communication needs, including relay services for callers with speech or hearing impairments and translation services for callers who don't speak English Placing outbound calls as needed to share time-sensitive information with customers Using multiple computer systems to access data and document information About You To be successful in this role, you should have at least one year of customer service experience, with knowledge of public benefit programs and prior experience in a health or human services setting being highly desirable. You should also possess: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Great active listening skills Strong attention to detail Strong PC skills, including the ability to quickly learn new computer applications A positive attitude Empathy, patience, and professionalism Strong multitasking skills and the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment The ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable programs, policies, and procedures Good problem-solving and de-escalation skills The ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Home Office Environment To be a Customer Support Representative at blithequark, you will need: A computer meeting the following criteria: Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 (Macs and Chromebooks are not supported at this time) Memory: 8GB of RAM CPU: 6 cores Hard Drive: At least 500MB of free space Sound: sound card (standard on most computers) Up-to-date antivirus software Access to high-speed, hardwired internet (no Wi-Fi or Satellite) Dual monitors A USB noise-cancelling headset A webcam for certification and training purposes Flexible Hours of Operation As a Customer Support Representative at blithequark, you will enjoy flexible scheduling, with the ability to select your own hours of work within our client's hours of operation. Our hours of operation are: Monday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET Tuesday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM ET Thursday and Friday, 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM ET Please note that Mondays and Tuesdays are particularly busy, and we require contractors to service at least 5 hours on Mondays and at least 4 hours on Tuesdays. If you prefer to service fewer hours on Mondays and Tuesdays, or not to service any hours on these days, you are free to pursue a different opportunity within the blithequark network. Pay and Perks This flexible opportunity pays independent contractors $13 per hour. You may also qualify for home office tax deductions, but you should consult with an accountant to determine eligibility.
