Job Overview The Customer Service Representative-I will be responsible for performing day-to-day customer service activities within our Patient Business Services (PBS) location. This role requires a strong focus on ensuring excellent customer satisfaction through timely, accurate, and professional follow-up and resolution to customer complaints, problems, issues, and general inquiries. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to address concerns, provide financial guidance, and facilitate a positive experience throughout the revenue cycle. Key Responsibilities Respond to patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and empathetic manner, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up. Provide accurate and detailed information regarding medical billing, insurance claims, and financial assistance programs. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including healthcare providers, billing specialists, and financial counselors, to resolve complex issues and improve patient satisfaction. Utilize revenue cycle systems and software to investigate and resolve patient concerns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies. Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices in customer service and revenue cycle management. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines. Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A high school diploma or Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Successful completion of the blithequark Trainee program or equivalent training and experience. At least one (1) year of experience and relevant knowledge of revenue cycle functions and systems, working within a hospital, clinic, health insurance company, managed care organization, or other healthcare financial service setting. Proven experience in medical claims processing, financial counseling, financial clearance, accounting, or customer service activities. Essential Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with patients and families. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to resolve complex issues. Proficiency in revenue cycle systems and software, with ability to learn and adapt to new technologies. Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and process excellence.
