Physical Security Technician
About the position Responsibilities • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the ability for Corporate Physical Security to monitor company sites and ensure only those authorized have access to them. • Provide program coordination and oversight of regional physical security projects, physical installations, and repairs of access systems, alarms, and CCTV security systems. • Complete annual facility security risk assessment for regional sites, utilizing various tools such as CrimeCast to provide broad perspective, documenting and assessing findings in a timely manner and presenting recommended mitigation strategies to appropriate departments. • Act as the visitor management system administrator to ensure system is properly installed, programmed and functioning as designed. • Supervise contract integrators with the installation of security and alarm systems in Charter facilities and retail locations. • Facilitate response to access control systems, alarms, and CCTV systems within the region, handling installation plans, technical issues, system updates, and repairs. • Provide oversight and monitoring of security systems to ensure operational effectiveness, check security access systems, alarms, and CCTV systems within the region on a consistent basis. • Work with Security Coordinators and Physical Security Specialist II to continually evaluate and determine strategic region site needs and provide in-field support whenever necessary. • Available 24/7 as the primary point of contact for service issues/alarm notifications, and PSOC after hour notifications regarding system failure issues associated with Corporate Physical Security Department systems. • Travel to Charter's facilities across the Enterprise to coordinate and oversee on-site security risk assessment for facilities, documenting findings and incorporating the crime related index with an algorithm to evaluate overall risk to the location. • Liaison with local law enforcement and other security professionals as it pertains to security matters. • Perform other duties as requested.
