We’re looking for a Remote Bookkeeping Manager who’s ready to bring their expertise, energy, and leadership to our growing bookkeeping department. About the Role As a Bookkeeping Manager, you’ll play a critical role in onboarding new clients, building strong financial processes, and ensuring our bookkeeping analysts are set up for success. You’ll be the key link between our clients and our internal bookkeeping team, helping ensure every set of books is accurate, up-to-date, and tax-ready. We’re looking for someone who takes full ownership of their work, thinks proactively, and can confidently problem-solve. You’ll report directly to the Director of Bookkeeping and manage a small team of bookkeeping analysts. Key Responsibilities • Client Onboarding & Systems Setup • Lead the onboarding of new bookkeeping clients, including handling their bookkeeping directly for a period of time until systems are built out and ready to hand off to the team • Build, document, and implement bookkeeping processes customized to each client’s needs • Transition ongoing monthly work to bookkeeping analysts after onboarding is complete • Team Management & Review • Oversee a team of bookkeeping analysts • Review work and provide feedback to maintain accuracy and quality • Help train and mentor junior staff • Client Communication • Hold regular video calls with clients to review finances, answer questions, and ensure smooth operations • Be a confident, friendly, and professional point of contact • Process Improvement & Strategy • Identify areas for improvement in workflows and tools • Contribute ideas and help implement systems that improve accuracy and efficiency • Support the Director of Bookkeeping with initiatives to scale the department What We’re Looking For • Deep bookkeeping experience (3+ years preferred) • Mastery of QuickBooks Online and Excel • Comfortable managing multiple clients/accounts simultaneously • Strong organizational and project management skills • Clear and confident communicator (written and verbal) • Proven ability to lead and develop a team • Self-starter who can take initiative and solve problems • Fun, collaborative team player who wants to grow with us Bonus Points If You Have • Experience working in a tax or accounting firm • Familiarity with tools like Gusto, Paychex, Bill.com, Net Suite, or similar tech • In-depth knowledge of QBO features (invoicing, bill pay, inventory, etc.) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year Benefits: • Health insurance • Health savings account • Paid sick time • Paid time off • Professional development assistance • Retirement plan Work Location: Remote
