Senior Payroll Specialist PT - Remote (Philadelphia, PA or Cleveland, OH)
About the position Responsibilities • Manage multi-state payroll and related activities including wage and overtime payments, payroll deductions, and separation payments. • Execute payroll processing, tax setup, compliance, and payroll configuration within HRIS. • Conduct compliance audits and prepare manual payments when required. • Coordinate 401(k) contribution and HSA submission processes, ensuring accurate data input. • Audit and review benefit deductions, reconciling against election and enrollment information. • Identify areas for improvement in payroll and benefits processes and recommend best practices. • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to address issues and optimize operations. • Complete monthly and quarterly audits related to payroll and benefits. • Assist with generalist responsibilities when coverage is needed. Requirements • 7-10 years of payroll experience in a dedicated payroll function across multiple states/jurisdictions. • Working knowledge of payroll processing, taxes, compliance, and auditing. • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and diagnose problems. • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Experience in providing quality customer service.
