Overview Remote Inpatient Coding Specialist ($5k Sign On Bonus) at Lifepoint Health. Flexible shifts; remote location with all U.S. time zones welcome. Job Details Position: Inpatient Coding Specialist (Remote) Sign-on bonus: $5,000 Schedule: Flexible shifts; provide your manager with days and start/end times to complete 40 hours per week. Remote work from anywhere in the United States. Job Location Type: Remote What You’ll Do / Responsibilities Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM/PCS according to CMS requirements for hospital billing. Achieve and maintain 95% accuracy on quality reviews and productivity standards. Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the coding area. Follow coding workflows for service type, including addressing compliance reviews. Submit physician queries when clarification of documentation is needed. Facilitate a positive working relationship with physicians, nurses, medical staff, and hospital employees to ensure productive work-related encounters. May assist in training and reviewing the work of other coders for accuracy and efficiency. Make recommendations to the supervisor and monitor results to support department goals. Seek guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding and assist others with responsibilities; adjust work schedule to meet department needs. Maintain independence in decision-making while working remotely. Attend required educational webinars, conference calls, and coding seminars; participate in coding discussions. Maintain coding education hours and renew annual coding credentials as applicable. Complete all assigned compliance courses within the designated period. Conform to AHIMA Code of Ethics and Standards of Ethical Coding, LifePoint Health policies, and maintain patient/employee confidentiality. Other related tasks as assigned. Qualifications & What We’re Looking For Education: Associate degree in a health-related field preferred. Experience: One year of inpatient coding experience in an acute care hospital is preferred.
