[Remote] Software Engineering Lead Analyst (36522918)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Cigna Group is a healthcare company, and they are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to work within their Software Engineering group. The role involves analyzing large datasets, gathering requirements, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of data to deliver insights that drive business value. Responsibilities • Facilitates individual conversations with the business to understand their needs for new solutions and data required; drives thorough discussions and recommends requirements based on reporting and analytics best practices, data needs, and data availability. • Technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of data, design and present it in ways to demonstrate insights required by the business. • Technical expertise to read from SAS, SQL to infer the transformations/calculations to then map to the new data sources and methodology, for large scale migration projects. • Asks key questions to ensure understanding of the business expectations. For Reporting Products, this includes detailed questions about data sources, reference data, calculations, logic, etc. • Reviews Test Plans with the TPO each sprint, ensuring that they include detailed scenarios to test prior to approval of delivery. Documents analysis outcomes in a digestible yet comprehensive manner. • Requirements Gathering, e.g. Conduct interviews, workshops, or focus group discussions with stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements. Document these requirements clearly, ensuring they're specific, measurable, and unambiguous. • Data Analysis, e.g. Use SQL to extract data from databases, transform, model and visualize the data to provide the data insights required by business as captured in business requirements. • Data Insights e.g. Write SQL queries to group and aggregate data to produce summary statistics on large datasets and communicate insights to stakeholders. Capture queries and metric definitions for use in reporting applications. Skills • Must have excellent analytics and reporting acumen including experience building reports or completing data analysis related to trend management; strong Analytical mindset is required. • Competent in cloud DBMS such as Teradata Vantage, Snowflake, Deltalake; and concepts such as database modeling, data migration, and BI. Expectation is that there will be a need to adaptable to quickly learn new technologies as they emerge. • 8+ years of experience in Analytics and/or Reporting • Working experience with SAS. • Strong hands-on experience with SQL. • Experience working with large enterprise data warehouses / solutions • 2+ years Agile experience, preferably in a Business Analyst for an analytic or reporting product, is required. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required; individual must be polished and professional and have experience interacting with senior leadership. Must demonstrate a high “EQ” (emotional intelligence) in all situations. • Experience managing and reporting on performance of a “product” is required, including operational and outcomes metric tracking and goal setting. • Experience measuring results and outcomes post-implementation is required. • Must be able to track to goals and deadlines in the context of the big picture • Excellent organization skills are required. • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is required. • Flexibility to change course based on business needs as required; must operate well with ambiguity. • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Business, Engineering, or mathematical discipline and/or 5 years’ experience in analytics and/or reporting is required. • Experience in healthcare environment is strongly preferred; client reporting experience is a huge plus. • Experience with Jira or Rally for documenting project requirements is preferred. • Strong business acumen is preferred.
