As a Senior Manager, Control Management, you will play a critical role in establishing the Operational Risk and Controls strategy for our Credit & Fraud Risk (CFR) team. Your expertise will help us minimize credit and fraud losses, promote business growth, and deliver superior customer service. You will collaborate with multiple partners across various business units, functional areas, and geographies to ensure control management is embedded in our day-to-day operations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing execution plans for operational risk management, including tracking issues with KRI limits and risk appetite
- Managing the development of operational risk frameworks to enable effective risk management and decision-making
- Leading risk and controls governance forums, interfacing with org-wide governance processes and committees
- Supporting the development of BU-specific procedures and standards related to Operational Risk Management
- Facilitating the understanding and use of the risk governance framework across business units
- Aggregating reporting, approvals/exceptions, and supporting "change-the-function" activities
- Leading implementation of key areas training initiatives that align with Operational Risk Management
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 4+ years of experience in operational risk management, with a strong understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities
- Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous
- Experience in translating operational risk strategy and appetite into execution guidelines
- Experience in reviewing and tracking issues with Key Risk Indicator (KRI) limits and risk appetite
- Experience in overseeing the implementation of operational risk governance frameworks
- Experience in financial services industry
