We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced compliance professional to lead our Consumer Practices Compliance team at American Express. As a Director of Consumer Practices Compliance, you will be responsible for driving day-to-day compliance activities, executing UDAAP-related risk assessments, and demonstrating credible challenge on potential consumer practices risk. This is a remote-based position with a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $205,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by ensuring an effective Consumer Practices Risk Management Program, collaborating with Compliance Officers on corrective action plans, and liaising with regulatory agencies. You will also proactively identify risks and emerging issues applicable to ongoing and proposed business activities and work closely with colleagues in the General Counsel’s Organization to communicate regulatory requirements and industry trends. To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years of consumer compliance experience, with a strong background in managing activity in compliance, banking, regulatory examinations, or audit. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of regulatory bodies that influence bank policies for Consumer Practices, experience managing multiple projects, and strong collaborative and leadership skills.
