Position Overview
We are seeking highly motivated and qualified tutors to work with students in various subjects and levels. As a tutor, you will have the opportunity to work with students one-on-one, providing tailored support and guidance to help them achieve their academic goals. Key Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments with assigned tutees on a weekly basis
- Assess tutees' needs and tailor tutorial support accordingly
- Write tutor reports following each session
- Attend trainings and comply with all policies and procedures
- Provide high-quality academic support to students in various subjects and levels
- Develop and implement effective tutoring strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
- Collaborate with other tutors and academic support staff to ensure a comprehensive support system for students
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must:
- Be a current Penn State student (sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student) or have a strong academic background
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
- Have earned at least an A- in the course(s) you wish to tutor
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Be flexible and able to work varying hours, including evenings and Sundays
Preferred qualifications include:
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of specific subjects or areas of study
