About the position Responsibilities • Create Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs) for recruitment and non-recruitment actions. • Maintain case files for RPAs. • Extend job offers and assign correct pre-employment paperwork. • Facilitate New Employee Orientation (NEO) training. • Coordinate surveys of training needs and work with HR Specialists for further evaluation. • Resolve minor employee issues pertaining to conduct, performance dissatisfaction, poor work habits, and tardiness and attendance. • Pull reports and provide support with troubleshooting to resolve discrepancies. • Compose and prepare routine correspondence. • Assist HR Specialist(s) with administration of Centralized Leadership Development (CLD) programs and Advanced Degree Program (ADP). • Participate in updating and revising local civilian recognition/award policy. • Review award packages, provide suggestions, ensure accuracy and completeness, and submit awards packages to identified recipients. Requirements • Must be a US Citizen. • Must be determined suitable for federal employment. • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. • Current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. • Appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date is subject to provisions of 5 United States Code 3326. • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. • Required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
