Job Summary We are looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to fill the role of a Remote Customer Service Representative. The successful candidate will be responsible for answering inbound calls from members regarding their benefits, researching information, and providing excellent customer service. This is a temp-to-perm position offering a competitive hourly rate of $17.49 - $17.50 per hour. The role requires a high school diploma and a minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or a related field. Key Responsibilities Answer inbound calls from members regarding their benefits, handling 20-50 calls per day on average, with a focus on the quality of each call and multitasking abilities. Research information regarding deductibles, claim status, providers, and other related topics to provide accurate and helpful responses to customers. Answer questions about Medicare and Medicaid, demonstrating a thorough understanding of these programs and their benefits. Provide excellent customer service, demonstrating empathy, active listening, and a passion for helping others, even in complex or sensitive situations. Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. Work up to 2 hours of overtime per week as required, ensuring that customer needs are met and service levels are maintained. Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need: 2 years of experience in customer service or a related field, with a proven track record of providing excellent service and handling complex customer inquiries. A high school diploma, with post-secondary education or certifications in customer service, communications, or a related field being an asset. Excellent interpersonal sensitivity, with the ability to understand and respond to customer needs in a empathetic and professional manner. Strong knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid, including program benefits, eligibility, and application processes. Adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to changing priorities and situations. Basic software skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly. Excellent typing skills, with the ability to accurately and efficiently document customer interactions and research findings. Strong active listening and telephone etiquette skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues. Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not required, the following qualifications and skills would be considered assets for this role: Certifications in customer service, such as the Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP). Experience working with ERP and CRM systems, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly. Knowledge of customer relationship management principles and practices, with the ability to apply these skills in a customer service environment. Experience working in a remote or virtual team environment, with the ability to self-motivate and work independently with minimal supervision.
