Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Customer Service Advisor to join our remote team in Alabama. As a Health Insurance Customer Service Advocate, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional support to our members and healthcare providers. Your primary responsibilities will include working with members and healthcare providers to create and review prior authorization requests, enrolling members in specialized programs, and ensuring seamless communication between all parties involved. Key Responsibilities: Respond to inbound calls from members and healthcare providers, addressing their concerns and providing timely resolutions Review and document required information to ensure accurate case setup and maintenance Research and determine the best course of action for each case, using available resources such as medical policies and standard operating procedures Demonstrate proficiency in decision-making and problem-solving, using critical thinking skills to resolve complex issues Make outbound calls to providers and/or members as needed, to obtain additional information or coordinate appointments Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and effective issue resolution Meet production, quality, and regulatory expectations, adhering to established metrics and benchmarks Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High School Diploma or GED (or higher), with documentation available for verification 2+ years of combined or related experience in healthcare administration, with a strong understanding of medical terminology 1+ year of call center experience, with a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Typing speed of 35+ words per minute, with accuracy and attention to detail Ability to follow a script for every call, while also demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in response to changing situations Dedicated work area established, with high-speed internet connectivity (20mbps upload/download speed) and compliance with HIPAA regulations Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, to support our 24/7 operations Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Associate's Degree (or higher) in a healthcare-related field, with a strong foundation in medical terminology and concepts Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT coding systems, with experience in applying these codes in a healthcare setting Previous experience working in a call center environment, with a focus on healthcare or customer service Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our team members.
