Benefit from working in Kansas City, a key hub for the Logistics, Warehouse, Supply Chain, Entry Level, Night Shift industry. Pay & Perks Pay: $17-$22/Hour (approx. $23.6k/Year) Benefits: This role offers a competitive benefits package. Clear growth pathways at our Kansas City office. ResponsibilitiesCore objectives involve Physical Stamina in Logistics, Warehouse, Supply Chain, Entry Level, Night Shift.About the Role (Amazon Sortation Center): Join the 'night shift' team at our Amazon Sortation Center in Charlotte, NC (CLT2). We are hiring 'Entry Level' Material Handlers to be the engine of our 'middle-mile' operation. As a Material Handler, your job is to sort and move packages from incoming trucks and prepare them for shipment to local delivery stations. This is a critical 'night shift' role that ensures packages get to the 'last mile' for next-day delivery. This is a fast-paced, physical role where 'no experience' is required. We provide full, paid training to get you up to speed on our processes and safety standards. Your New Career – The Role: As a 'Night Shift' Material Handler, your primary responsibility is the physical movement and sorting of packages. You will be working in a warehouse environment, unloading packages from trailers, placing them on conveyor belts, and sorting them onto pallets based on their destination. You will use a handheld scanner to identify package destinations. This is *not* a forklift role; it is a 'general labor' role that requires you to be on your feet and active for your entire shift. You must be able to lift up to 49 lbs, and be comfortable with repetitive motion, lifting, and sorting. This is a great 'entry-level' role to start your Amazon career. The Training – Your Foundation for Success: 'No experience' is needed. Your paid, on-the-job training will cover: * **Safety First:** You'll learn our safety procedures for a live warehouse, including how to safely work on/around conveyor belts and trailers. * **Process Training:** A Learning Ambassador will teach you the 'middle-mile' sorting process: how to read scanner prompts, identify sort 'lanes', and build safe, stable pallets for shipping. * **Technology:** You'll learn to use the simple scanner interface that tells you where each package goes. A Day in the Life – What to Expect: Your 'workday' is a 'night shift' (e.g., 8:00 PM - 4:30 AM): * **Start of Shift:** You'll arrive at the Sortation Center, check in, and join your team for a safety briefing and shift announcements. * **Unload/Sort:** You will be assigned to a station, often at the 'inbound' docks. You will work with a team to unload packages from a trailer onto a conveyor belt. Or, you may be on the 'sort' line, picking packages from the conveyor and placing them onto the correct pallet for a specific delivery area. This requires speed, accuracy, and physical stamina. * **Wrap & Stage:** Once a pallet is full, you will wrap it with plastic and use a manual pallet jack to move it to the outbound staging area. * **Physical Demands:** This is a very active, 'entry-level' job. You will be on your feet for the entire shift, lifting, twisting, and moving packages. You must be able to lift up to 49 lbs repetitively. * **End of Shift:** You'll clean up your work area, return your scanner, and check out with your supervisor. The Lifestyle – Schedule & Environment: This role is perfect for a 'night owl' or someone who needs their days free. The warehouse is a busy, industrial environment. We are hiring for 'night shift' (e.g., 8:00 PM - 4:30 AM) and 'weekend shift' (e.g., Friday-Sunday) schedules. This can be a full-time or part-time role, offering flexibility. Why Amazon? This 'night shift' role often includes a pay differential. As an Amazon Associate, you get 'Day 1' benefits (for full-time), paid time off, and 401(k) options. This is a great way to get your foot in the door. Amazon has a strong culture of promoting from within, and your experience as a Material Handler can lead to roles in process improvement, leadership, or safety.
