Virtual Reading Tutor (Part-Time, Remote) – Empower Young Minds and Ignite a Love for Reading
Job Overview: Amplify, a pioneer in K-12 education, is seeking passionate and dedicated Virtual Reading Tutors to join our team of educators who are committed to making a difference in the lives of students. As a Virtual Reading Tutor, you will have the opportunity to provide high-impact, small-group tutoring to students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade, helping them develop the foundational literacy skills they need to succeed. Responsibilities: • Provide virtual tutoring to small groups of K-6 grade students, three set days per week, using Amplify's mCLASS Intervention program • Prepare unique virtual lesson activities and materials, internalizing lesson objectives before each tutoring session • Monitor student progress, using provided assessments to understand if tutoring instruction is working or needs adjustments • Implement feedback from program managers and tutor coaches, self-advocating for needs related to this position in a professional manner • Attend and actively participate in synchronous and asynchronous virtual training and onboarding sessions • Maintain accurate records, including lesson logs and periodic questionnaires, to supply project-level data reporting Requirements: • Available for at least 90 minutes, three set days per week, at consistent times throughout the 2023-2024 school year • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent • Fluent English speaker with High School level proficiency in reading competencies • Demonstrates professionalism, time-management, and tech-savviness in a fast-paced environment • Comfortable and skilled with technology, including Web-based browsers, blithequark Meet, blithequark Docs, blithequark Sheets, and Zoom • Enjoys working with elementary-aged students, demonstrating calm, flexibility, rapport-building, and solution skills with young learners Preferred Qualifications: • Experience preparing and leading instructional activities with small groups of children in a virtual setting • Experience with English Language Learners and/or proficiency in a second language • Knowledge of early reading skills and literacy intervention What We Offer: • Competitive salary ($15 - $20/hr for delivery of sessions and $15/hr for lesson preparation and professional development) • Opportunities for professional growth and development • Flexible, remote work arrangement • Collaborative and supportive team environment How to Apply: If you are a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about education and making a positive impact, please submit your application, including your resume and a cover letter, to Apply To This Job.
