Skills Coach for New Jersey Teens and Young Adults
We’re expanding in New Jersey. And I’m looking for a few people who know how to meet young people where they are — with dignity, creativity, and real presence. Open the Lid anticipates to be providing services for the Department of Labor in New Jersey for transition-age youth (14–24) in building meaningful, self-directed futures. We work with schools, families, and communities — and we do it in ways that are deeply relational and personalized. I’m hiring contracted Skills Coaches who can support youth one-to-one and in small groups (primarily online), and who are also comfortable doing community outreach (resource fairs, meeting with schools, building connections). If you • H • ave experience in special education, OT, rec therapy, speech, social work, psychology, or similar fields (certification can be from any state or country — doesn’t need to be current) • * Feel grounded working with neurodivergent youth • Are able to individualize support, not just follow a script • Can navigate your own schedule and follow through reliably • Have the patience to build trust • (Bonus) identify as LGBTQIA+ and/or speak Spanish We should talk. This is contract work (not full-time employment). Flexible scheduling. Paid training. Work from home + some local outreach. $20–$100/hour depending on service type & experience. If this sounds like your kind of work: Email [email protected] with a short introduction. You don’t need a formal cover letter. Just tell me who you are and why this work matters to you. #OpenTheLid #YouthTransitionServices #Neurodiversity #YouthEmpowerment #LGBTQIA #NewJerseyJobs #Education #NJDVRS #NJDOL
