Safe Environment Administrative Assistant (FT)
About the position Responsibilities • Serve as a staff member of the Office of Pastoral Support and Child Protection, obtaining a working knowledge of the work done in all sections. • Enter attendance at trainings into the VIRTUS database. • Assist with tracking compliance with child protection trainings for adults and youth in RCAB parishes and affiliated Catholic schools. • Provide assistance to parishes and schools to help them understand and comply with all rules related to Child Protection. • Learn to facilitate Protecting God's Children (PGC) training and assist with ongoing communication with all PGC Facilitators. • Provide PGC training as needed, at least once a month. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements • Ability to obtain and maintain a working knowledge of Massachusetts Child Protection protocols and procedures, including mandated reporter law. • Ability to communicate Massachusetts Child Protection protocols to clergy, employees, and volunteers. • Ability to obtain working knowledge of USCCB Charter for the Protection of Youth and Young People and teach others regarding the charter. • Ability to obtain working knowledge of RCAB Policy for the Protection of Youth and teach others regarding the policy. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Strong organizational skills. • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. • Self-directed with the ability to identify needs and meet them. • High School Diploma required.
