They are seeking an intern to assist with projects related to injury and violence prevention, providing practical work experience and broad exposure to public health research and program implementation. Responsibilities • Assist in benchmarking "best practices" in injury and violence prevention, specifically around shared/risk protective factors, conducting literature searches, and synthesize the findings • Assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of injury and violence prevention projects • Attend various meetings with program managers and department heads • Support team in organizing and managing digital files related to public health messaging • Communicate and present at meetings and other recognized avenues as appropriate • Develop educational materials and tool kits based on identified needs • Participate in meetings and events as needed • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational seminars and workshops on injury and violence prevention • Receives additional training, as required, to gain proficiency and experience in Injury and Violence Prevention topic areas • Other duties as assigned Skills • Ability to support data entry and data cleaning processes • Experience or strong interest in conducting literature reviews and synthesizing findings • Capacity to present findings to diverse partners and stakeholders • Ability to plan and implement educational webinars or presentations • Ability to work remotely and independently • Experience or demonstrated interest in grant writing • Interest and willingness to learn more about public health, specifically injury and violence prevention • Ability to think creatively and solve problems • Effectively communicates with team members, supervisors, and partners • Organized and dependable Benefits • Flexible schedule • Training opportunities • Health insurance • Employee retirement plan (ERS GSEPS) • Deferred compensation • 13 paid holidays • Vacation and sick leave • Paid parental leave • Dental • Vision • Long-term care • Life insurance Company Overview • Georgia Department of Public Health focuses on preventing disease, nursing, pharmacy, clinical, and medical services.
