Description Graduate Student Interns *Remote* Providence is calling Graduate Student Interns to assist with the Talent Cultivation and Effectiveness department work. • This will be a remote role with required equipment provided by Providence. If you reside in any of the following states, you can and should apply for this opportunity: Oregon, Washington, California. • This is a paid internship opportunity. By special arrangement with HR, pay will be $25/hour regardless of location. • This is a temporary, non-benefited position that will last for approximately 6 months. • First Generation college graduates are encouraged to apply. After that, you will be notified if you are selected to move forward with a live, virtual interview. Internships will begin in December 2023, and last for approximately six months. Most interns work approximately 20 hours per week, weekdays/day shift, but the exact schedule would be determined between the intern and intern supervisor during the hiring process. There will be a total of 6 graduate level intern positions available. If you are moved forward in the selection process, you will have the opportunity to share which area(s) you are interested in. Internships will be available in the following areas: • School Affiliations: School Affiliations enables students to come to Providence for educational rotations. We provide HR clearance to all incoming students and faculty, and complete legal contracts with each school. This role will include gathering and verifying contact information for our partners, data clean-up, and processing and filing documents pertaining to our contracts. The ideal candidate will be accurate, thorough, and comfortable communicating with partnering organizations in writing. Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, and Adobe PDF experience preferred. 2. Talent Effectiveness (2 Interns): The Talent Effectiveness team is responsible for the strategic direction, process design, and execution of critical programs for 120K caregivers (employees) and core leaders including Internal Mobility, Performance & Development, Talent Review & Succession Planning, and Accelerated Development. Our interns will have the opportunity to plan for annual processes with the development of communications and change plans, improve existing programs to produce more efficiency or higher quality results, and design & implement new programs such as our new mentor program, ProvMentorship. The ideal candidate will be motivated, articulate, curious, innovative, collaborative, and organized. Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI, Power Automate, Excel is preferred. 3. ProvidenceReady Career Exploration: The role of the ProvidenceReady intern will be pivotal in promoting healthcare career exploration in Oregon, and across the Providence system. The intern will provide support to the Career Exploration Program Manager in organizing talent cultivation events, experiences, and development on a systemwide level, including building out resources for career seekers and other Talent Cultivation programs. The work will impact opportunities for Providence professionals to engage with career seekers, spanning from high school students to adults, and support their journey toward successful careers. This position includes responsibilities such as event planning support, scheduling guests, supporting research for our Immersive Virtual Job Shadow project, supporting the ProvidenceReady podcast, and more. Talent Cultivation & Effectiveness This internship assignment will include assisting in the development and implementation of a system-wide workforce development database to track all of the talent pipeline programs throughout Providence’s footprint (SharePoint forms, PowerAutomate, and Share Point list integration; communications and change management). Assisting in the implementation of a consulting career track to support Providence’s Talent Cultivation & Effectiveness departments solution delivery operating model. Assist Providence’s Talent Cultivation & Effectiveness Portfolio Manager establish tools and processes needed to maintain portfolio data. Skills would include: Project management, communication, organization, data management, analytical, strategic thinking, agile, research, system thinking. 5. Internships and Apprenticeships The intern in this area will work with the Internships and Apprenticeships Program Manager in building out structure around these programs at Providence. In assisting with the Internship Program, the intern will help to support other graduate-level Providence interns, as well as Early Career interns, and others across the system. This includes researching best practices, coordinating events and interviews, and helping to create program content. The intern may also work on program data collection and reporting. We are also launching a system-wide apprenticeship program model. The intern will help support the work being done around research and funding, standing up pilot programs, and program management. This opportunity would be ideal for someone interested in workforce development, education, and/or program management.
