Job title: Payroll Manager Company: The National Association of REALTORS Job description: Position Summary: NAR’s Finance team is looking for a Payroll Manager. Reporting to the Vice President, Taxation, Financial Compliance and Expense Management, the Payroll Manager is responsible for the preparation and processing of semi-monthly, multi-state payroll by established deadlines for nine companies, approximately 600 employees; review and ensure accuracy of information. Also, responsible for coordinating efforts between Payroll and Human Resources to ensure timely flow of information. The position completes all processes independently, and audit payroll entry for accuracy before transmitting data to the payroll provider. The employee must analyze and investigate discrepancies and correct errors while exercise critical-thinking methods to identify and solve problems. This position will process various other payroll operation functions, including reconciling payroll income statement and balance sheet accounts and reviewing and processing payroll invoices and journal entries. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, a customer-service orientation, and a high level of proficiency with various technology platforms (including Ceridian Dayforce, ADP and/or other payroll provider software packages). Duties and Responsibilities: • Update payroll records by entering changes in employment status, salary increases, exemptions, insurance, direct deposits, job titles, etc. • Work independently and along with ADP to reconcile payroll taxes, set-up, update and modify state tax registrations, etc. And to follow up with state agencies regarding payments, refunds, adjustments, etc. • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, including quarterly reports (ex. Forms 940) and annual Forms W2 and 941. • Serve as timesheet system administrator responsibilities include maintenance of employee data and Company, cost center, and Employee time-off information. • Communicate with internal and external parties to resolve and investigate timesheet and payroll discrepancies • Assist with monthly and year-end financial statement preparation (Including journal entries and excel worksheets) • Audit semi-monthly payrolls to ensure that all employees are paid correctly and in accordance with state and federal regulations and Association policies. • Create compensation reports and perform labor analysis/reviews • Work along with the Benefits Manager to troubleshoot payroll issues, errors, exceptions, etc. Keep current with employer paid benefits changes, payroll tax, DOL, Local and Federal regulatory changes affecting payroll procedures and calculations. • Other duties, as assigned Qualifications: • At least 7 years of related experience in Payroll and Benefits processing, reporting, and management • High level of proficiency with Payroll Provider Software Solutions – ex. Ceridian, ADP, etc. • Results oriented with high attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of response to all inquiries • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office—Outlook, Excel, Word Organizational Overview: The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) is a team of professionals dedicated to providing world-class service to over 1.5 million REALTORS® working in the United States and around the world.
