Job Description: PURPOSE: Responsible for developing, modifing, and executing software test plans, test scenarios, defines and solves for test data needs, automated scripts, and programs for testing in order to ensure the outgoing software and technical products meet and exceed quality standards. Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their root causes. Test system modifications to prepare for implementation. Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software engineers and product owners. May participate in the review of software design. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 50% Responsible for analyzing the requirements, operational problems, specifications and change requests. Produce test plans and test cases to determine presence and scope of potential code defects. Monitor accurate and thorough test cases, scripts and data with pre-determined results within specified scheduled dates. Perform test execution of all assigned test cases. Log defects in system in record. Research and provide technical support on operational/test system defects and propose solutions 50% Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality is not compromised, new functionality is working as designed, and recommends corrective action. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software. Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Education Details: Information Technology, Engineering or Computer Science Experience: 3 years Experience in a software development environment In Lieu of Education In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC)., Proficient Knowledge of software test requirements and protocols., Proficient Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, Proficient Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems., Proficient Knowledge of wireless communications and network systems., Proficient Intermediate programming skills on a programming language, Proficient Familiarity with databases, Proficient Knowledge of Microsoft Office products or equivalent, Proficient Attention to detail, Proficient The incumbent is required to immediately disclose any debarment, exclusion, or other event that makes them ineligible to perform work directly or indirectly on Federal health care programs.
