Registered Nurse – Telemetry Unit | Auburn, IN | 13-Week Contract
This opportunity is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses focused on telemetry care within a fast-paced hospital environment. You will provide specialized nursing support to cardiac telemetry patients, including those with arrhythmias, chest pain, congestive heart failure, and complex medical-surgical needs requiring cardiac monitoring.
Location Overview:
Situated in Auburn, IN, the work setting serves an active patient community and offers a supportive environment for nursing professionals aiming to advance their telemetry expertise. Auburn presents a welcoming small-town atmosphere while being within reasonable access to larger metropolitan areas for conveniences and recreation.
Schedule & Contract Details:
• Day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Every other weekend rotation
• Option for block scheduling
• 13-week contract duration
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips in real-time
• Administer cardiac medications orally, IV push, and IV drip safely and accurately
• Conduct thorough assessments and maintain precise documentation
• Perform bedside shift reports and maintain patient safety standards
• Float within the unit as needed to meet patient care demands
Qualifications & Experience:
• Active Registered Nurse licensure in Indiana (IN RN license)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)
• Ability to work on holidays when scheduled, unless covered by regular staff
• Strong knowledge of cardiac diagnoses such as A-Fib RVR, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances
• Willingness and capability to work 1:5 or 1:6 patient ratios on a 24-bed telemetry unit
