Job Description:
• Support Johns Hopkins University and Medicine for all affiliations (faculty, staff, students, administrative departments) for enterprise email and related infrastructure
• Design complex infrastructure and email-related solutions that conform to institutional policies and best practices
• Install, configure, and maintain complex server hardware, operating systems, and infrastructure applications on Windows and Linux
• Implement and manage system backups, archives, and recovery processes
• Provide complex server-level administration, monitoring, tuning, maintenance, upgrades, patches, and incident response
• Develop complex scripts and automation to improve systems management and service processes
• Perform complex system software upgrades including planning, testing, and coordination
• Design and integrate security authorization and access control; audit user access and authorization
• Generate and maintain system-specific performance, integrity, and capacity reports
• Participate in project collaboration and full project lifecycle: change management, RFP development, vendor evaluation, testing, and documentation
• Lead and support email-related projects: migrations, upgrades, integrations; develop documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and training for junior staff
• Provide some ticket-based support and input for internal roadmap planning and infrastructure decisions
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree
• Four years related experience
• Additional education may substitute for required experience; additional related experience may substitute for required education per JHU equivalency formula
• In-depth knowledge of email technologies: JH Email Gateway (Cisco IronPorts), Listserv (Sympa), Microsoft Exchange
• Experience with Windows and Linux server environments
• Advanced skills in Automation, Cloud Migration, Directory Services, Operating Software, Scripting, Systems Analysis, Systems Configuration, Systems Design, Systems Integration, Systems Engineering
• Server administration: installation, configuration, backups, upgrades, patching, monitoring, tuning, and recoveries
• Ability to develop complex scripts and automation for systems management
• Experience with change management, vendor evaluation/RFP processes, and project lifecycle participation
• Understanding of IT security principles, access control, and authorization auditing
• Ability to author documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and training materials
