Key Responsibilities:
As a Southwest Software Engineer, you'll play a critical role in driving innovation and delivering solutions that meet the needs of our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, supporting, and influencing the delivery of solutions and services that are technically and practically sound, well-coordinated, and aligned with our technical strategy and client requirements
- Guiding and leading colleagues using SWA talent management practices to mentor, develop, and engage employees
- Adhering to Organization values and skills to foster a culture of inclusion, recognition, and support of a safe workplace
- Investing in leadership and self-development through participating in ongoing learning and improvement
- Leading cross-functional teams to deliver solutions and services that address business problems
- Providing technical thought leadership related to assigned functional areas
- Delivering technology solutions using best practices to achieve maximum team productivity while delivering high-quality products
- Staying up-to-date with emerging trends, processes, and solutions related to assigned liabilities
- Building strong, collaborative relationships and credibility while influencing and driving change across separate Business and Innovation teams
- Working with Innovation and colleagues to measure financial benefits and real-world business value
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful as a Southwest Software Engineer, you'll need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; a four-year degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field and/or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in directly or indirectly leading teams
- Comprehensive knowledge in:
- A Business or Information Technology environment
- Leading teams and providing work direction
- Skilled in excellent cooperation, negotiation, and communication to work with interactions with business clients and technology teams
- Ability to provide strategic leadership to Team(s)
- Ability to use suitable motivation and influence methods to achieve desired team results
- Ability to set and manage stakeholder expectations
- Ability to deliver quality projects on time and within budget
- Ability to manage projects using the association's project management process
Preferred Qualifications:
We'd love to see:
- Authorization/Certification in a relevant field
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
