Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical / Industrial CAD Designer to design an industrial electrical cabinet similar to a telecom / SMPS power plant enclosure, using SolidWorks.
The cabinet consists of two main parts:
Main Rack (Outer Cabinet)
Sub-Rack / Module Frames (Internal plug-in units)
A reference photo of an existing cabinet will be provided for overall concept and proportions.
Scope of Work
1️⃣ Main Rack (Outer Cabinet)
Floor-mounted industrial metal cabinet
Front door with cut-outs for:
Display
Meters
Indicators
MCBs / Switches
Proper mounting provisions for:
Sub-racks
Cable routing
Earthing
Ventilation cut-outs / louvers (natural or forced cooling)
Manufacturing-friendly sheet-metal design (bends, flanges, tolerances)
2️⃣ Sub-Rack / Module Design
Plug-in type SMPS modules mounted inside the main rack
Each sub-rack should:
Accept PCB assemblies
Include front handles
Have connector cut-outs (rear/front as required)
Mechanical alignment for easy insertion and removal
Uniform design across multiple modules
Inputs We Will Provide
STEP files of:
PCBs
Connectors
Displays / meters (if required)
Reference image of cabinet
Overall size constraints (height, width, depth)
Number of sub-racks and modules
Deliverables
SolidWorks part files (.SLDPRT)
SolidWorks assembly files (.SLDASM)
Sheet-metal features properly defined
2D manufacturing drawings with dimensions
Exploded view (preferred)
STEP / IGES export for manufacturing use
Skills Required
