Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager - Oracle & Cloud Database Administration to lead our team of database administrators in modernizing Oracle and Cloud databases. As a Senior Manager, you will have ownership of developing a structured approach to modernize Oracle and Cloud systems to attain maximum resiliency and performance. You'll lead a team of hardworking and motivated database administrators to support critically important Oracle and Cloud databases that are crucial information assets of the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Oracle and Cloud database management team.
- Coach, develop, and encourage team members to develop and maintain a high-performing team.
- Provide sound technical decision-making and guidance to deliver sustainable, high-quality products.
- Be a trusted, inspiring leader with utility groups and business partners to guide backend Oracle and Cloud databases.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for Oracle and Cloud database administration.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams on database backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability.
- Proactively upgrade, maintain, and monitor the database to prevent potential issues.
- Diagnose and forecast the database's health and capacity.
- Seek innovative approaches to improve performance and quality associated with data management and administration.
- Validate and evaluate specific database project work plans for complex technology projects.
- Lead risks and provide timely status reports and project updates to stakeholders.
- Work on multiple, complex, and varied database technology projects independently.
- Develop and recommend improvements to database technical standards, policies, and practices.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience as Oracle DBA and/or Cloud DBA.
- 5+ years of experience as a technical supervisor or other management positions.
- Possesses and applies a wide range of knowledge of database technology principles, best practices, and tactics to the completion of hard and complex assignments crossing multiple functional areas.
- Applies complete technical understanding of database structure, design, production, and implementation to the oversight of large assignments.
- Performs monitoring and tuning of the database environment.
- Directs technical evaluation and design activities on large, complex software development projects and provides technical expertise to other technology team members engaged in design and development activities.
- Partners with project teams, management, and business partners on various components of data management and database design and provides DBA support accordingly.
- Performs production systems support and leads P1/P2/P3 calls.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge or experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard Technology, Exadata, ExaCC Platform, ZDLRA.
- Working knowledge or experience with AWS MySQL/PostgreSQL.
- MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or other related field.
- Aviation industry knowledge or experience.
