Overview
The Adjunct General Education Tutor works under the supervision of the Dean of Allied Health and is responsible for assigned tutoring and remediation of students enrolled in online general education course assignments. The Adjunct General Education Tutor shall maintain competence in their specific subject area through such activities as practice, continuing education programs, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, and/or research projects.
What you will do
- Must be able to independently plan, organize, and carry out remediation and instruction.
- Supervise students' progress in the course and notify College Deans related to students in jeopardy of failing.
- Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
- Respond to students' questions and requests for tutoring within 24 hours.
- Communicate course content or delivery concerns to RCHC & Portage Learning.
- Maintain professional/educational competence in the course subject.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors Degree, Education or specified General Education subject area. (Required)
Experience
- 3 years full-time, or equivalent, recent teaching in the specified General Education subject area. (Required)
