Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at The Walt Disney Company. As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in driving business growth by analyzing complex data sets, developing predictive models, and providing actionable insights to inform business decisions. This is a remote, full-time opportunity with a competitive salary of $26/hour.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the streaming business with AI and statistical modeling focused on understanding and predicting subscriber behavior
- Develop and execute innovative AI methods to answer key business questions and identify new areas to explore
- Drive experimentation to evaluate the impact of your models and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and unlock opportunities
- Present your findings and recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, or Statistics
- 2+ years of experience designing, building, and evaluating effective AI solutions
- Strong coding skills in Python/R and experience with machine learning libraries like TensorFlow, scikit-learn, etc.
- Strong background in statistical modeling, including regression, classification, time series forecasting, causal inference, and other methods
- Experience creating scalable numerical models and solving complex quantitative problems
- Ability to communicate insights and conclusions from data to inform model development and business decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field
- Excellent analytical skills and high level of statistical knowledge
- Proven ability to choose the right statistical tools for a given data analysis problem
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment with changing needs
- Strong interpersonal skills, both technical and non-technical
- Experience with data platforms and applications like Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Windstream, Github
