About the Role The role of US Immigration Attorney is complex and requires a unique set of traits. Note: While this position is remote, candidates must reside in Massachusetts to be considered. Requirements • Diligently prepare cases, develop legal strategies, and drafting cover letters. • Develop an expert-level understanding of client cases, including preparing immigrant/non-immigrant petitions with in-depth knowledge of EB1, EB2-NIW, O-1, and RFEs. • Manage various projects and deadlines, continuously revising legal documents as needed. • Communicate complex legal terminology effectively and succinctly with clients. • Research legal issues by identifying applicable statutes and judicial decisions. • Stay updated on legislative changes impacting immigration law. • Develop solutions to intricate legal questions. • Provide training to client companies and individuals regarding substantive legal topics and recent immigration laws and regulations. • Collaborate with colleagues to share information, resolve client issues, and support projects. • Maintain effective communication with clients and foreign nationals about procedural and case development issues. • Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for various visa statuses. • Coordinate with global mobility teams and legal counsel to prepare petitions for submission to DOL and USCIS for non-immigrant and immigrant statuses. • Supervise paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation to ensure accuracy and compliance. Benefits • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited US law school, with a strong academic record. • Admitted to a US state bar in good standing. • 1-2 years of experience with EB1, EB2-NIW, O-1, and RFEs is a plus. • Bilingual proficiency in Portuguese. • High-level organizational skills. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. • Strong time management and attention to detail, capable of multitasking in a high-volume environment. • Willingness to adapt and grow across different practice areas. • Analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently, proactively, and with minimal supervision.
