Job Summary
As a Part-Time Teacher/Tutor at Sylvan Learning, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality educational services to students in a small group setting. You will work with students to develop mastery of skills, build confidence, and inspire a love of learning. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality educational services to students in a small group setting (3 or 4:1)
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student
- Build mastery of skills and confidence in students across a range of subjects, including reading, math, writing, study skills, and ACT/SAT Test Prep
- Utilize Sylvan's expert personal and prescriptive approach to drive academic success
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a supportive and engaging learning environment
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry trends
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Current or expired teaching license from any state (required for reading instruction)
- Passion for teaching and learning, with a strong commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- Availability to work after school at least one day a week and/or Saturday mornings, with additional hours available during the day throughout the school year and in the summer
