Work Schedule

Position Overview

Hawk Link Coordinators at the University of Kansas assist the coordination of Hawk Link initiatives centering first-generation college students, Pell-eligible college students, and students of color, through intentional educational opportunities designed to foster academic success and belonging. Through holistic engagement and culturally relevant support, the Hawk Link Coordinator will provide academic and personal success guidance and connections to students that align with institutional/unit/division retention initiatives.

The Hawk Link Coordinator will cultivate opportunities designed to facilitate a successful transition into the academic and social community at KU, from pre-enrollment to graduation and beyond. Reporting to the Director of Equity and Success Initiatives, this position assists students with navigating campus, identifying campus resources, and linking students to educational opportunities in conjunction with the Hawk Link Success Team and other professional staff within Equity and Success Initiatives.

Equity and Success Initiatives include Hawk Link, Hawk Link Peer Mentoring, Jayhawk JumpStart, Multicultural Scholars Program (MSP), Native American Initiatives (NAI), Haskell/KU Exchange Program, and the KC Scholars, Hispanic Development Fund Scholars, and Larsen Scholars.

Equity and Success Initiatives is part of the Student Success Initiatives department within Academic Success at KU along with Student Success Technology, the Military-Affiliated Student Center, and Academic Success Navigators.

advocates for and strategically advances education at the University of Kansas. We walk with students from orientation to graduation, providing them with high-quality, data-driven academic and career advising, targeted academic support systems and networks, and empowering and engaging experiential learning. We serve the university, coordinating with faculty, staff, and students throughout KU to further educational initiatives and strategic goals. Our units include University Academic Support Centers, Centers for Orientation and Academic Advising Programs, Career and Experiential Learning and Student Success Initiatives.
