Key Responsibilities and Expectations
As a Behavior Technician, you will work closely with our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to implement personalized ABA therapy programs for children with ASD. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing One-on-One ABA Therapy: Deliver individualized therapy sessions to children in their homes, focusing on skill acquisition, behavior support, and treatment plans
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data on behavior and skill acquisition during sessions, using this information to inform treatment plans and drive progress
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with BCBAs, families, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in ABA therapy
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent: A degree in a related field, such as Psychology, Education, or Sociology, or be working towards your degree
- Experience Working with Children: At least one year of experience working with children in a 1:1 setting, or equivalent experience in a related field
- ABA Experience: One year of experience in ABA therapy, or equivalent experience in a related field, such as special education or counseling
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with families, BCBAs, and other stakeholders
- Reliable Transportation: A reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license, with the ability to travel to client homes and other locations as needed
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification: Current RBT certification, or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe
- Experience with Cognitive Behavior Intervention Plans: Experience using Cognitive Behavior Intervention Plans with youth and families
- Special Education or Counseling Experience: Experience working in special education or counseling, with a focus on supporting individuals with ASD
