Job Responsibilities:
As a Technician at American Airlines, you will be responsible for:
- Resolving and closing tickets/work orders supporting end-user desktops and peripherals
- Answering customer care issues escalated from the Helpdesk
- Contributing to desktop projects (global installs/upgrades) as a project team member
- Remotely diagnosing and resolving requests using remote tools
- Investigating and collaborating with other departments to assist with system-related issues
- Documenting customer interactions in incident management system including asset management
- Recovering data from hard disk drives or performing data migration
- Supporting remote access for virtual private network connectivity as well as remote/broadband connectivity for laptops
- Installing and configuring local and network-based printers
- Performing security support
- Working various shifts, and events, being available for any emergencies, and traveling as required
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience/Training
- 4 years of hands-on IT work experience supporting and resolving various PC desktop software and hardware issues
- Firsthand experience supporting personal computers in a Windows/TCPIP environment
- General knowledge of all Windows-based operating systems including Windows 10
- Knowledge of workflow and ticketing systems
- Information on VPN network and ability to troubleshoot issues
- Ability to work independently and act in a collaborative, team-based environment
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
- A+ certification
- MCSE/MCP is a plus
- Past IT infrastructure experience in Carrier/Airport environment
