Job Description: Internal Audit Manager – 4-Month Contract | (Remote + Travel) | $70-$80/Hour | 1099 Accepted A Top #25 firm is seeking an experienced Internal Audit Manager for a 4-month contract to support a multi-billion-dollar manufacturing client in the automotive industry. This role requires extensive travel (covered by the company) to various plant locations across the eastern U.S. If you have a strong audit background, manufacturing industry experience, and the ability to lead and execute audits efficiently, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Key Details: • Compensation: Up to $80/hour (1099 accepted) • Duration: 4 months • Hours: ~45 hours per week • Location: Remote with frequent travel (company-covered) • Industry: Automotive Manufacturing What You’ll Do: • Conduct internal audits across multiple U.S. manufacturing plants • Review work papers and directly contribute to audit execution • Assess IA controls, payroll controls, and SOX-related frameworks • Perform lease accounting audits and related assessments • Work on tooling audits—strong understanding of manufacturing processes required • Utilize heavy Excel work for data analysis and audit procedures • Lead and manage audit teams, ensuring efficient and organized execution • Engage with plant leadership and navigate organizational challenges effectively What You Need: • Proven experience in Internal Audit, preferably within manufacturing or automotive industries • Ability to travel extensively (on-site visits typically last one week per plant) • Strong organizational skills—must be highly efficient in fast-paced audit environments • Leadership experience—ability to guide and collaborate with teams • Heavy Excel experience—data analysis, reconciliation, and audit-related functions • CIA certification is helpful but not required • Experience with large-scale manufacturing environments is a plus This is a high-impact, fast-moving role where efficiency and audit expertise are critical.
