Role Description
We’re seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in clinical auditing, coding, and training to join a leading national healthcare organization that’s improving how care is delivered across the U.S. This is a fully remote role (with occasional travel to the Northeast region) where you’ll play a key part in ensuring coding accuracy, compliance, and clinical integrity within inpatient programs.
• Conduct inpatient and outpatient clinical coding audits to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Develop and deliver training sessions and educational materials for coding and clinical staff
• Evaluate medical records for coding quality and medical necessity
• Collaborate with clinical leadership to identify areas of improvement and recommend corrective action
• Analyze audit data, create reports, and present findings to management
• Maintain and update internal policies, guidelines, and auditing tools
• Support onboarding and continuing education initiatives for coding teams
Qualifications
• Active RN license (multi-state preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience in nursing, clinical auditing, utilization management, or coding review
• Certification preferred: CPC, CIC, or CCS
• Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 coding, InterQual, MCG, and CMS guidelines
• Exceptional written communication and analytical skills
• Experience in remote and managed care settings
