About the Role
American Industrial Controls (AIC) is seeking a high-impact
Fractional Sales Consultant to spearhead our expansion into the major Oil & Gas and Petrochemical markets. We supply Tier-1 brands including
Rosemount, ABB, Siemens, Parker
, and more.
This is a strategic "Inside Sales Hunter" role designed for a professional with an existing network in the Houston Energy Corridor and Ship Channel. Your mission is to bridge the gap between our high-end inventory and the procurement needs of global operators and EPCs.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
• Market Penetration:
Identify and pursue current projects and MRO opportunities within major companies (Air Liquide, ExxonMobil, Shell, Chevron, LyondellBasell, Westlake).
• Vendor Onboarding:
Navigate and manage the registration process for Approved Vendor Lists (AVL), including ISNetworld and Avetta compliance.
• Technical Sales:
Promote AIC’s portfolio of instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment to Project Engineers and Procurement Managers.
• RFQ Generation:
Secure qualified Requests for Quote (RFQs) for ongoing greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Relationship Management:
Leverage your existing Rolodex to bypass "cold" entry barriers and secure high-level introductions.
Compensation Package (Fractional Sales)
As this is a fractional role (not full-time), compensation is structured for high-incentive performance:

Monthly Base Retainer:
$3,000 - $4,000
(Commensurate with experience/network).

Tiered Commission:
5%
of Gross Revenue on all closed deals (or
15% - 20%
of Gross Margin).
•
Success Milestone: $1,000
bonus for every new Major Account AVL status achieved.
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. No W2 benefits (Health, 401k, etc.) are provided.
Requirements
• Proven track record in Sales/Business Development within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sectors.
• Deep familiarity with industrial brands such as Rosemount, Siemens, ABB and Parker.
• Experience with Houston-based procurement hubs and EPC firms
(Worley, Bechtel, Fluor, KBR etc.).
• Self-managed professional with a dedicated home office and existing industry contacts.
• Ability to translate technical product specs into value propositions for project managers.
• Must be able to discuss complex applications such as Custody Transfer, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS/SIL), and Hazardous Area Classifications (Class I, Div 1/2) with project engineers
Terms & Conditions
• Duration
: Initial 6-month contract with monthly performance reviews.
• Exclusivity:
Non-compete applies only to direct competitors of AIC; consultant may maintain other non-competing fractional clients.
• Expenses:
Pre-approved business travel and entertainment expenses will be reimbursed
