Job Overview
As a Trade Planning Analyst at BODYARMOR, you will play a vital role in supporting our Commercial Finance Leadership and Sales Team. Your primary responsibility will be to track trade spend budgets, analyze spending and sales volume results, and provide actionable insights to inform business decisions. You will also be responsible for managing multiple vendor relationships, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and maintaining accurate records of customer discounts and trade accruals.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and master our internal planning tool, 'The Huddle', to assist in managing trade spend and promotional budgets with Trade Planning Manager(s) and the field sales organization
- Assist in the month-end reconciliation of budget versus actual spending and provide analysis of results to Commercial Finance Leadership and Profit Growth Management
- Ensure the timely closing of trade spend accruals for various customers throughout the year, referencing customer point-of-sale data to inform accrual amounts
- Collaborate with Trade Planning Manager(s) to propose forecast recommendations to the field sales organization for various customers on a monthly basis
- Own the timely and accurate management of multiple vendor relationships, from receipt to payment, and reconcile bills against budget in 'The Huddle'
- Interface with Sales teams to resolve any inconsistencies or incomplete information and maintain a record of customer discounts for communication to distributor partners and trade accrual accuracy
- Work with the Commercial Execution team to process bills, track inventory purchases from Coke Catalog, allocate them to the appropriate budget, and monitor inventory balances at the end of each month
- Reconcile the General Ledger monthly for trade spend activity, ensuring all activities are correctly coded to the corresponding budget, and investigate discrepancies to determine the appropriate budget allocation
- Participate in enhancement initiatives for BODYARMOR's planning tools and support additional ad hoc projects as requested, such as providing performance insights using NielsenIQ or working with IT to improve internal reporting capabilities
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 1-2 years of Corporate Finance and/or Trade Planning/Sales experience in the CPG (beverage) industry
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office Suite, with strong analysis, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work in a hybrid environment, with in-person attendance required at our Whitestone, NY office (Tues-Thurs)
- Occasional travel by car or plane may be required
