About the Role

The Sales Associate role is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional to join our Sales Associate Development program, where you will learn the skills and strategies necessary to succeed in the industry. You will work closely with our Sales Managers and Directors to set sales meetings, prospect for new business, develop relationships with key decision-makers, and report on account activity. Your primary objective will be to meet or exceed sales objectives for your energy market, and you will be expected to identify and develop new business prospects from multiple sources, including prospect lists, discovery, and individual research.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Sales Managers and Directors to set sales meetings and develop sales strategies
• Prospect for new business, develop relationships with key decision-makers, and understand customer needs
• Identify and develop new business prospects from multiple sources, including prospect lists, discovery, and individual research
• Meet or exceed sales objectives for your energy market, and consistently strive to improve sales performance
• Accept inbound and perform outbound telephone calls to identify sales opportunities, and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our products and services, and stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and customer success, to ensure a seamless customer experience

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of skills, experience, and personal qualities, including:

• A college degree in a relevant field, such as business, marketing, or communications
• Six months to one year of experience within an inside sales organization, preferably in the energy or technology industry
• Aptitude for sales, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
• Strong time management, prioritization, and self-motivation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in tools like PowerPoint, Salesforce, and Google Suite, and a willingness to learn new technologies and systems

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates who possess:

• Experience working in the energy industry, or a related field, such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, or sustainability

• Experience with data analysis and sales metrics, and the ability to use data to inform sales strategies and improve performance
• A certification in sales, such as the Certified Sales Professional (CSP) designation, or a related field
• Fluency in a second language, such as Spanish, French, or Mandarin, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customer groups
