As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for executing quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) activities, supporting the design and quality teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute testing exercises for product development and conformance, ensuring thorough quality checks throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop detailed test plans for all stages of product testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Create test methodologies, experiments, and review results to ensure the highest quality of products.
- Participate in Bill of Plan evaluations, CTS, DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, CTR, and other critical quality processes.
- Provide analysis from tests conducted and historical data to inform quality decisions.
- Create, maintain, and improve technical documents and formats to ensure accurate and up-to-date quality records.
- Develop test development schedules and test execution plans to ensure timely and effective quality assurance.
- Research test failures through data analysis and risk of failure in the field, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Support warranty claims for internal data, collaborating with the quality team to resolve customer complaints.
- Identify and assess potential risks in design/manufacturing that could impact customer quality, proactively mitigating risks to ensure exceptional quality.
- Collaborate with the engineering group, quality department, manufacturing, and production to ensure seamless quality assurance.
- Perform capability studies, gage R&R, and other critical quality activities to ensure accurate and reliable quality data.
- Drive root cause analysis procedures and design quality records to ensure continuous improvement.
- Provide QA support during product development/R&D and QC support during manufacturing and production.
- Demonstrate knowledge of PPAP, APQP, and other quality validation processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Audit and execute customer requirements SOR or Technical specifications/requirements, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
- Coordinate engineering and pre-production builds, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (science or engineering) or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in QA/QC, validation, testing, or product development, with a strong understanding of quality assurance principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and drive informed quality decisions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of industry-standard quality processes, including PPAP, APQP, and other quality validation processes.
