**Job Summary:**
We are seeking an experienced accountant to join our Corporate Bookkeeping team at blithequark. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US GAAP, a minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience, and a proven track record of driving process improvements and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the month-end close cycle, driving process enhancements, making smart close packages, and addressing Corporate Bookkeeping in cross-functional collaborations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Own the month-end close cycle, including audit of prepaid, accruals, and business ledgers to ensure fiscal summary accuracy under US GAAP
* Functional responsibilities include recording or journal entries (including intercompany entries), preparation of accounting report reconciliations, budget versus actual review, and trend analysis
* Drive process improvements and automate manual work processes to achieve efficiency
* Make smart close packages that summarize key business and accounting trends for management review
* Address Corporate Bookkeeping in cross-functional collaborations with SP&A, Financial Applications, Travel and Cost, Cash Receipts Activities, Tax, and regional accounting partners
* Help teams in gathering required expectations for local reporting and compliance purposes
**Essential Qualifications:**
* 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
* Understanding of US GAAP; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
* Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Demonstrated experience in carrying out process improvements
* Flexibility in a rapidly changing environment
* Ability to tackle issues independently and exercise judgment when solutions are unclear
