Job Overview
The Data Science Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies, processes, and frameworks to integrate and analyze various data sets, including structured and unstructured data. Key Responsibilities
- Develops and executes strategies, processes, and frameworks to integrate and analyze various data sets, including structured and unstructured data.
- Manages everyday functional activities, directs teams, and oversees project executions to ensure that assets are allocated correctly and represented accurately.
- Creates programming programs, algorithms, dashboards, data tools, and queries to clean, model, integrate, and evaluate datasets.
- Stays up-to-date with new scientific techniques and technologies and applies them to drive business solutions.
- Collaborates with functional specialty units to drive business solutions and direction.
- Establishes credibility with partners while managing expectations and ensures regular, consistent, and effective communications with colleagues and partners.
- May develop a budget for the functional area and manage budget to plan, with responsibility for delivering against business objectives and goals.
- Allocates available resources to meet working targets and creates and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training, and development opportunities and performance management processes.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, computational, or technical discipline.
- Experience with analysis and statistical software like SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, SAS, SPSS, and others to perform analysis and interpret data.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL and open-source data science and statistics packages like Python, R, Spark, etc.
- Experience establishing and maintaining key relationships with internal (peers, colleagues, and leadership) and external (business community, customers, and vendors) partners to foster strategies that meet office objectives within budget and timelines.
- At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least 2 years of direct management, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications

- Advanced degree in a quantitative, computational, or technical discipline.
