About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to join our Sports Information and Analysis team. As a Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of sports data distributed by our team. You will work closely with our production team to deliver accurate and comprehensive sports information to our fans around the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Guarantee sports data distributed by the Sports Information and Analysis team is accurate, timely, and of high quality.
- Work in individual settings and in teams to deliver accurate detailed breakdown, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time that power various arenaflex products and productions.
- Create and maintain an active knowledge of the Sports Information and Analysis team's role in fueling arenaflex digital products and television productions.
- Check the results of one's own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high level of attention to detail.
- Contribute to production, projects, and initiatives across the newsroom, and assist newsroom leaders who are coordinating full-time and part-time staff.
- Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and propose likely solutions. Communicate rapidly and clearly with stakeholders on these issues.
- Play a proactive role in working with stakeholders in developing or refining production processes.
- Be an active participant in team and department meetings.
- Seek and respond to feedback regarding individual performance.
- Stay informed about current department policies and procedures.
Essential Qualifications
- Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of the games.
- Full schedule availability, which will include evenings (only), weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that powers arenaflex digital and television products.
- Ability to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production environments.
- Ability to communicate confidently - verbally and in writing - to production managers and peers about production issues and opportunities, often through the noise of a busy newsroom.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media.
- Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes.
- Working knowledge of arenaflex products and productions.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
- Experience leading or mentoring a team.
- Ability to speak and write Spanish.
- Experience using social media in a business or news environment.
Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: College degree or equivalent.
