Job Summary
As a Customs Brokerage Representative III, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth clearance of international shipments, working closely with clients, carriers, and government agencies to resolve any issues that may arise. You'll demonstrate advanced knowledge of entry writing, classification according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS), and customs regulations, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares customs entries and forwards freight to designated locations, including interface with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers.
- Follows up on the clearance process for all entries prepared, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of any issues that may arise.
- Communicates documentation discrepancies to clients and supervisors, providing effective solutions and troubleshooting.
- Coordinates freight delivery to designated locations, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company procedures.
- Resolves finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial processes and regulations.
- Scans entries into the imaging system, meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements.
- Prepares reports, presentations, and analysis using various software packages and databases, showcasing your analytical and technical skills.
- Establishes and maintains client relationships, providing excellent customer service and support.
- Participates in weekend work schedules on a department rotation basis and holiday schedules based on the needs of the operation and account requirements.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A high school diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working for a customs broker (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of customs operations, laws, and regulations, as well as other government departments (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software packages and databases.
- A Customer Broker License (preferred).
- Accurate and rapid data entry skills, with attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively with clients and foreign origins.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $19.50 to $31.65 per hour, depending on your experience and qualifications. In addition, you'll be eligible for:
