Job Overview
We're seeking an experienced Customer Development Manager to join our team as an Insights and Analytics expert supporting a Top National Customer. As a CDM, you'll leverage your analytical and thought leadership skills to execute category strategies that align with customer priorities. This role involves analyzing data, identifying opportunities, and making recommendations that drive category and customer growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Insights: Manage data sources to monitor the field execution of vendor programs and assortments. Analyze and report data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Category Performance Tracking: Track category performance, including sales, profits, margins, and market share. Develop, communicate, execute, and monitor specific performance metrics and goals relevant to each business as part of regular, scheduled business reviews.
- Supplier Performance Evaluation: Evaluate and make recommendations on supplier performance to enhance the company's inventory and fill rate objectives.
- Client Satisfaction and Collaboration: Ensure superior client satisfaction by providing hands-on deep analytics and contributing to team problem-solving. Collaborate with external retail customers, key suppliers, and internal teams to deliver insights and recommendations.
- Communication and Reporting: Create and deliver effective reports using POS data, Syndicated Data, and account-specific database information in presentation-ready formats. Communicate complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Bachelor's Degree: A degree in a relevant field, such as business, marketing, or analytics.
- Experience: Experience within the CPG sector, preferably in the adult beverage industry, with a focus on customer development and analytics.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and quantitative analysis skills.
- Category Management Principles: Expertise in category management principles, syndicated data, and shopper/consumer insights (Numerator/Spectra, etc.).
- Leadership and Decision-Making: Assertive leadership and decision-making skills with an aptitude for understanding changing market dynamics and resolving complex problems.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
We prefer candidates with:
- Costco Experience: Experience working with Costco or similar national chain customers.
- Syndicated Data Experience: Experience working with Syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI), Internal Shipment Data, and Household Panel.
- Proven Track Record: A proven track record of success in customer development and analytics.
