Job Overview
The Automated Warehouse Material Handler – 1st Shift is a critical role responsible for the accurate and efficient fulfillment of customer orders. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will be retrieving and stacking specific products and quantities as specified on the pick ticket/computer screen, while maintaining a safe, accurate, and efficient working environment. Your duties will include building stable pallets of product, meeting or exceeding warehouse and company expectations in safety, accuracy, and efficiency, and contributing to the overall success of our logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist and facilitate in case picking and sorting within the automated environment using computers, software, and complex machines, adhering to all established safety procedures and policies.
- Collaborate within a team environment to coordinate and organize efficient and dependable warehouse processes, ensuring seamless operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Adapt to the needs of the role and maintain knowledge of working in different work areas throughout the workday, meeting the minimum expectations of those different work areas, including HQS, Semi-Automated Lanes, Pallet Pick, and Flow Rack.
- Assist in the daily housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse, including keeping the work area free of trash and debris, as well as cleaning any type of spillage and following all waste removal and recycling protocols.
- Work safely, accurately, and efficiently to control warehouse inventory, keeping shrink at an acceptable level and contributing to the overall success of our logistics operations.
- Perform miscellaneous activities as directed to support the efficient operation of the warehouse in a dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong and diverse skillset, including:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere while walking and repetitively lifting 30 lbs, with the ability to lift up to 75 lbs as required.
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment, coordinating and organizing efficient and dependable warehouse processes.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the role in different work areas throughout the workday, meeting the minimum expectations of those different work areas.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions from a computer screen, with attention to detail and the ability to differentiate our packages.
- Ability to work in a noisy and non-climate controlled environment, with flexibility in schedules and hours to meet the demands of the business.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- High school diploma or GED, with knowledge acquired through 1 to up to 3 years of work experience in a related field.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with a strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
- Basic computer skills, with the ability to utilize screens, monitors, and devices to pick accurately and within a given sequence.
