Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical architect for teams within the Discovery contract, ensuring the quality of engineering and design of systems.
- Practically break down complex issues into simple, straightforward solutions, and develop technical roadmaps to guide future directions and technological advancements.
- Analyze and improve data quality and metrics, and fully understand system interdependencies and constraints.
- Utilize internal and industry knowledge to make informed design decisions, and apply technical influence over 50+ colleagues to enhance their productivity and effectiveness.
- Mentor colleagues on cutting-edge technical matters for professional development, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- At least 4+ years of experience building large mobile systems, with a strong foundation in software development engineering.
- Proficiency in distributed systems, datastores (SQL, NoSQL), and the ability to choose the right technology based on requirements.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design for performance, as well as excellent critical thinking skills.
- Ability to provide technical guidance across backend, frontend, and ML technologies, and thrive in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.
- Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Tech/B.E/Bachelor's or Master's degree from a reputable university, with at least 13 years of professional experience as a backend/full stack developer.
- Experience with ML, data science, or search in B2C (e-commerce, OTT) is a significant plus.
