The Associate Underwriter will perform basic underwriting functions under approved guidelines for small to mid-size businesses, learning underwriting concepts to make sound risk and financial decisions on Delta's commercial book of business.
Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive client-specific experience analysis to provide appropriate rates based on risk assessment and evaluation of smaller or less complex cases
- Works with fellow underwriting team members through underwriting peer review process
- Advises and provides guidance to sales and other internal customers on the underwriting rationale
Skills
- 0+ with Bachelor's degree
- Candidates with proven related experience may be considered for this position. One year or more of experience in underwriting or a related field
- Intermediate communication skills, written and verbal
- Intermediate mathematics knowledge
- Candidate/ employee must be detail-oriented with analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of Current Dental Terminology ('CDT') codes and dental nomenclature
